Why are more young folks being diagnosed with cancer?

There are several reasons why more young people may be diagnosed with cancer. One reason is that advances in medical technology have led to earlier and more accurate detection of cancer, which means that some cancers that may have gone undiagnosed in the past are now being detected in younger people. Additionally, changes in lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, and exposure to environmental toxins may be contributing to an increased risk of cancer in younger people.

Another factor is genetics. Some cancers are known to be hereditary, meaning that they can be passed down through generations. If a young person has a family history of certain types of cancer, they may be more likely to develop the disease themselves.

Lastly, some experts suggest that certain behavioral and social factors may be contributing to the increase in cancer diagnoses among young people. For example, tobacco and alcohol use, as well as exposure to certain viruses, have been linked to an increased risk of cancer. Additionally, changes in sexual behavior and exposure to sexually transmitted infections may also play a role. However, it's important to note that research on the specific causes of cancer in young people is ongoing, and more studies are needed to fully understand the underlying factors.
